Yerr!! Welcome in : I’m Isa Wave, but most people call me Isa.
I’m a Creative Director, multidisciplinary storyteller, and the founder of MavenueNY. A platform where culture, wellness, and community meet. My work lives at the intersection of creativity and movement, blending media, production, and athleticism to build experiences that inspire people to show up for themselves and for each other.
As a first generation creative, my journey started in biology labs and journalism classes, balancing my family’s expectations with my passion for writing, culture, and music. My early blog gained recognition from The Source, which opened the door to editorial work with XXL and GowhereHipHop. That momentum led to launching my first production platform, Café Con Leche, where I championed emerging creatives and built community long before social media made it easy.
Over the years, I’ve produced and hosted live events across New York City, including SOB’s, B.B. King Blues Club, Amityville Music Hall, and The Knockdown Center, all while expanding into screenwriting, short form directing, treatment development, and creative strategy. In 2022, I stepped into the role of Executive Producer for the show I Didn’t Want to Do This, which opened the door to my ongoing work as a scenic director and creative consultant.
But my story continues through movement.
In recent years, I committed to transforming my health and lifestyle. A personal renaissance rooted in discipline, curiosity, and community. I’ve run four half-marathons, embraced track, and found my rhythm training with We Run Uptown, Circa 95 Athletic, and a Community run club. I’m also deep in CrossFit, and forever connected to surfing, weightlifting, and any sport that challenges me to evolve.
This website is the next chapter: a true communal hub for NYC’s running and health events, creative happenings, weekly community spotlights, and updates that keep us all connected. Here, my worlds merge the athlete, the creative, the writer, the producer, the community builder.
At my core, I’m dedicated to storytelling that fuels connection, movement, and possibility. Whether through events, media, or the miles I run across this city, my mission is simple:
