Mariah Carey released her Honey in 1997, passing both Madonna and Whitney Houston. Both artist had been sharing No. 11 on the Billboards Hot 100 at the time. Mariah ended up becoming the solo artist with the most Hot 100 No. 1, and the second- most of any act, next to The Beatles.
