Visiting Welcome To Our World and Supa Dupa Fly 1997

Timbaland, one of my favorite producers and still on my top 10 list till this day!

I was first introduced to Timberland’s production style on fresh-faced Missy Elliott’s Supa Dupa Fly  debut album that The Goldmind and Elektra Records released on July 15th 1997.  I remembered being intrigued by how he had been able to parallel digital grooves that stayed consistent and packed unpredictable rotation of sounds all in one circuit. His sounds selection was so unique and before I even noticed what the  “Misdemeanor” artist was brining to the table I was stuck on his skill set.

This album featured many artist including Ginuwine, Nicole, 702, Aaliyah, Busta Rhymes, Lil' Kim, Timbaland, and Magoo.

Before I actually claimed Aaliyah, Timbaland and Missy Elliot as one of my all-time favorite trio, I was hooked on the sounds that Missy, Timbaland, and Magoo created when they came together on a track.

“How many songs am I going to hear on the radio that sound like mine?” is how Timbo introduced debut collaboration album with Magoo,  Welcome To Our World that released on Nov 11, 1997.

Timothy solely  produced both albums. Welcome To Our World was a Symphony of futuristic funk bass beats that highlighted smooth transitions. Magoo's high pitched unique voice compliemented Timbaland's production on this album. This is probably due to some of the iconic samples Timbaland utilized.
