Today marks the 22 year anniversary of Jay Z’s 7th studio album The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse released by Roc-A-Fella Records and Island Def Jam Music Group. This album was a sequel for his sixth studio album The BluePrint.
The 14 track release included hits like Bonnie & Clyde and Excuse Me Miss, but overall was not an impactful album for me. The production just didn’t appeal to me as much as the Blue Print. I felt like it didn’t have the consistency that we had been used to from Hov. Debatably one of his most commercial albums in his discography. However it was the the second time we would hear Beyoncé and Hov on a track list, as it followed up Crazy in Love and That’s How You Like It that released on Beyoncé’s Dangerously In Love album in 2003.
