"Cardi Can You Tone It Down Please My Kids Are Listening"

Instagram, a platform where we can express ourselves and make our daily routines and thoughts public for the world to see. Expressing her inner thoughts and daily events that’s how our Bodak Yellow superstar Cardi B started emerging on the scene. From stories in the strip club, to her sex life she has always been an open book. During an interview with La Mega 97.9 El Vacilón De La Mañana a concerned parent called in and stated although her children and grandchildren are fans she thinks that Cardi should “tone it down” with her vocabulary. Cardi B cuts her off to state “ I am not raising your children.”

Two things came to mind after viewing this part of the interview… if your children have kids are they not already adults? Okay that was a little petty. Two, should you change who you are because of what other people think about the way you represent your brand?

 1. Cardi B is a prime example that if you apply, things will happen : she applied hard work and even if she didn’t have the talent in the beginning she made sure to sharpen her weapons before war. This includes her look, vocabulary, and making sure she sacrificed time to be in the studio.

 2. Statistics state that there are 7.442 Billion people in the world as of 2016 ……… so even if half, actually even if 75% didn’t like you that leaves 1860500000 people left. That is more than enough numbers to build an empire out of your brand even if it is “not suitable for kids.”

 3. Self confidence radiates from getting to know who you are in order to create a product that is 100% authentic. “I don’t dance now, I make money moves,” would not be used as a lyric if Cardi didn’t except the situations in her life. Knowing who you are is prime ammo in order to brush your shoulders off when someone has negative opinion about your brand.

So is toning it down necessary to excel? No, but being true to who you are is. The revenue on originality makes it limited edition. Cardi B’s raw sense of being has created investors, being featured in TOP MAGAZINES, interviews with #1 radio stations nation wide, and sold out concerts/venues, and she has hits that her climbing if not at the top.
