Victoria Hernandez was an Afro- Puerto Rican music entrepreneur. She scouted local talent for multiple record labels in the beginning of her career . Due to her success Hernandez began her own record label, Hispano Records. As her success began to build, her label would soon be effected by The Great Depression. This didn't stop her love for music. In 1941 she opened the first Latin music store in New York City.
